All 12 clubs that have applied for Super League status in 2026 – with shock League One club included

ALL 12 clubs that have applied for Super League status in 2026 can now be revealed – with one shock League One club included.

That League One club is North Wales Crusaders, who can seal the third tier title this weekend if they overcome Keighley Cougars at home.

Meanwhile, four Super League clubs have also applied – all three Grade B Super League sides from last year’s IMG gradings are amongst them in Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants and Salford Red Devils.

But, Castleford Tigers are also included despite the West Yorkshire side receiving a Grade A in last year’s gradings. They did, however, receive 15.02 points, meaning a 0.2 threshold separates them between a Grade A and B.

The other seven teams are all from the Championship with York Knights, Bradford Bulls, Toulouse Olympique, Oldham, Doncaster, Widnes Vikings and London Broncos all vying for a spot.

Interestingly, there is no Featherstone Rovers included in that list despite being taken over by former player Paddy Handley and despite the club harbouring long-term Super League ambitions.
