NEARLY £50,000 has been raised for amateur Rugby League clubs through the Easyfundraising initiative.
With nearly five months of the year remaining, £48,000 had been amassed by grassroots outfits through purchasing household goods through linked retailers via a community online spend.
Leading the way to date are Waterhead Warriors Under 13s, with £1,004, Dewsbury Moor (£373) and Birkenshaw Bluedogs Under 14s (£184).
A Rugby Football League spokesman said: “The amounts have been raised simply through players, parents, coaches and wider earning a FREE cashback donation for their rugby club each time. No extra cost or effort.
“If you’re not using it yet, join today. 8,000+ retailers are standing by to donate.”
