Chris Annakin has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Wakefield.
The forward has impressed Chris Chester since the former Hull KR chief arrived at the club and was quick to secure his services until the end of the 2017 season.
Annakin’s contract was due to expire at Wakefield at the end of this season, and he said: “I am very pleased to have signed the extension, it is nice to have the security behind me.
“To keep me here for another year is great especially because I have come up through the ranks at the club.
“Chris Chester has changed this squad around since coming in and we are now on a good run, he is making his plans for the future and it is nice to know that I am a part of it.”
Chester added: “It is important for the club that we have been able to secure another home grown talent such as Chris Annakin. Chris has been a good servant to the Wildcats for seven years and I am delighted that he has extended his contract for another 12 months.”
