DANNY WARD has left Hull KR as assistant coach to rejoin London Broncos in the same role.
Ward spent two seasons at Craven Park as number two to Willie Peters, helping them win the treble this year.
The 45-year-old has returned to London where he was previously head coach between 2018 and 2021, leading them to promotion into Super League in the first season after stepping up from being an assistant.
Ward, who will work under incoming Broncos boss Jason Demetriou, said: “It’s a special group of people at Hull KR and add that to the success we’ve had this year, it’s been an unbelievable two years for me.
“Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. I’ve decided to move back down to London to be closer to my family.
“My daughter and wife have been down there for the last two years and they sacrificed a lot for me to go and achieve the things I have at Hull KR. Now it’s time to go back and be closer to them.
“It was a really tough choice, because it’s been amazing. I’ve loved every second of being back at Hull KR with the staff, players and the fans. Now it’s time for a different challenge.”
Peters paid tribute to Ward’s contribution at the Robins: “Danny played a key role in helping us achieve a treble this year and making a Grand Final last year. He’s a quality person and he did a great job as our defence coach.
“Thank you to Danny for his contribution at Hull KR and wish him and his family all the best. Wardy will always be a friend of the club.”
