Blake Austin has become Warrington Wolves’ latest Good Samaritan after delivering sporting equipment to families across the town.
The Wolves’ marquee man has followed in the footsteps of team-mate Jason Clark by working with the club’s Foundation to help supply 50 rugby balls and tennis sets to families in need during the pandemic.
Austin drove across the town to deliver the equipment to delighted youngsters last week.
He is now set to become a teacher too, posting challenges for youngsters on social media.
Austin is already prominent in the community and has delivered training and fitness sessions in local parks since his move to England last year.
Neil Kelly, Warrington Wolves Foundation Director stated: “It is important at this time to stay well and keep active so with the help of Blake we are able to encourage young people and their families to keep fit and healthy.
“Warrington star Blake was encouraging young people to join him in the park up at Appleton before the lockdown. He understands as a professional sportsman how important it is to stay well and as his nickname the “magician“ is down to his ethic of trying new things and challenging yourself, which can always bring out the unexpected.”
