Australia squad named for Third Ashes Test at Headingley

AUSTRALIA head coach Kevin Walters has named the Kangaroos team to play England in the Third Test of the Ashes series at AMT Headingley Stadium this Saturday, with captain Isaah Yeo returning.

Yeo returns to the side in the only change from the second Test team that beat England 14-4 in front of more than 52,000 fans at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool.

Yeo has been passed fit after undergoing the NRL’s concussion protocols following the first Test win.

Lindsay Smith, who came into the team for the second Test, is the man to make way.

Walters said: “We’ve had to work exceptionally hard in challenging conditions to win the opening two Tests, and while we’d like to reward the extended squad for their outstanding efforts on tour, we just feel that the players who have got the job done deserve to play in Leeds.

“The playing group has had a few days off to freshen up and now it’s back to work – we’ve trained well today and we’ve still got the captain’s run to get our ourselves where we need to be for what is a very important Test match for both sides.”
