Barba facing drugs ban

Cronulla’s Premiership winning fullback Ben Barba could face a drugs ban, after allegedly testing positive for cocaine.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Barba tested positive four days after the Sharks’ victory over Melbourne Storm.

It claims that Barba will face a 12-week suspension after the test, but his club will stick with him despite it being his second positive test for recreational drugs

Barba will reportedly go to a rehabilitation facility in Thailand, which if true will be his second time in rehab following a spell in 2013 when he learnt how to deal with anger issues and a gambling addiction.

The 27-year old started his career with Canterbury in 2008 before spending one year with Brisbane in 2014. A year later he joined Cronulla, where he played an integral role in their 2016 success.
