Barrow Raiders sign Leigh Leopards forward on season loan

BARROW RAIDERS have sealed a season-long loan deal for familiar face Ryan Brown, the Leigh forward.

The 20-year-old has featured for the Northern Competitions Stadium club over the last two campaigns, initially on dual registration from Wigan.

Brown signed for Leigh ahead of last season, and was then loaned to Barrow, featuring 22 times.

He has played once for Leigh this year, in their Challenge Cup third-round win at North Wales Crusaders, and once on loan to Salford.

“I’m really happy to be back at Barrow,” he said.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time there over the last two years – the lads, the staff and the supporters have all been brilliant with me.

“It’s a very tight-knit group, and I’m excited to get back in and do my part for the team.”

Coach Paul Crarey said: “It’s great news for the club and our small playing roster to get Ryan for the year. He has impressed everyone at Leigh during pre-season and played in the cup-tie.

“Leigh feel loaning him to Barrow will give him regular games and further the improvement he has made since spending time with us last season.

“Ryan has a great future ahead of him, and we look forward to helping him become a Super League-ready player and helping us succeed along the way.”
