TotalRL.com columnist Ben Cockayne has demanded that Hull Kingston Rovers pick up maximum points from the next two games, as they look to get their season firmly on track.
The Rovers – who have only gained one point so far this season in a thrilling draw at Huddersfield – face bottom side Bradford and Wakefield in consecutive home games starting this Sunday, and Cockayne described those games as ‘must-wins’, stating it is time to get their 2014 campaign going.
“The next fortnight is crucial for us,” Cockayne told the Hull Daily Mail.
“We’ve got two home games which we need to pick up maximum points from.
“I suppose Bradford’s game is a must-win for us. It’s been five games and we really need to get a victory to kick-start our season.”
Cockayne insists that even though the Bulls are rooted to bottom of the table, and in administration once again, they will still be incredibly tough opponents.
“There was a bit of excitement surrounding Bradford with the Koukash family bidding to buy the club, but all we’re concerned about is the 80 minutes on the field.
“They will be wanting to come to our place and give us another loss, and we’re in no doubt it will be another tough game.
“Their players have been a credit to their club throughout a turbulent period.”
