Ben Crooks eagerly anticipating Hull return on Thursday

Castleford Tigers centre Ben Crooks says he can’t wait for his return to former side Hull FC on Thursday night – admitting that the game was the first fixture he watched out for when they were released.

Crooks returns to the KC Stadium for the first time since leaving to join Parramatta Eels in the NRL, a switch that eventually saw him move back to Super League and back to his hometown club, Castleford.

Crooks says he’s delighted the fixture has arrived so early in the year, but said he’s enjoying his time with the Tigers so much, he can’t wait to go back to Hull on Thursday and show them what they’re missing out on.

“It was the very first fixture I looked out for,” Crooks said. “I haven’t been back to the KC since I left. I’m glad it’s come early so I can get it out of the way and crack on with the rest of the year.

“It wasn’t ideal how it ended but there’s no hard feelings. Now I’ve come back from Australia, I’m really enjoying my rugby again and I’m just looking forward to going back there and showing what kind of player I actually am.”
