Toronto Wolfpack have confirmed the signing of Leigh Centurions hooker Bob Beswick.
Beswick, who was linked with a move to Wigan earlier in the season, joins the club on a playing contract, but will also be the club’s head of strength and conditioning.
The Ireland international said: “I’m looking forward to working hard together, with a special group of people. We have the chance to do something that has never been done in Rugby League, and I consider myself very fortunate to be in this position. I can’t wait to get started, and look forward to meeting the fans in Toronto.”
Head coach Paul Rowley added: “Bob is well respected throughout the game, and when he showed an interest in joining our team, it was a very easy decision. He is a competitor on the pitch, and has given wonderful service to all his previous clubs. He also forms part of our conditioning staff, with a view to his Wolfpack relationship being a long and successful one.”
