BEVAN FRENCH will not play against Catalans Dragons this weekend – and he may not feature against St Helens the week after either, Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet has revealed.
French spectacularly took to the field for the last 20 minutes of the Challenge Cup Final at the weekend, despite it being a month earlier than his initial predicted return.
The livewire finished the game injury-free, but will continue his rehab in the upcoming weeks, definitely ruling him out of Wigan’s clash in Paris on Saturday.
“Although Bevan is fully fit, he does need to build up his running load so we will take him out this week for at least one weekend and maybe more,” Peet said.
“Its important we give him the best possible chance to have a robust end to the season and find his best form.
“It’s a long-term view there with Bevan.”
