Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants hold opposed session

LEEDS RHINOS and Huddersfield Giants have had an opposed training session while both holding warm-weather camps in Tenerife.

Rhinos coach Brad Arthur said: “It’s been really good, the camp came at a good time for us as we have had a tough four weeks.”

“It’s been good to get away with a change of scenery and weather which has helped.

“We had a hit out against Huddersfield today (Thursday) which was very productive for us, especially for our younger guys.”

Leeds have only made three new signings, in overseas trio Jeremiah Mata’utia, Ethan O’Neill, Danny Levi, and Arthur is keen to see if they fit in with the right mentality at Headingley.

“I want to see if they blend in and understand what our mentality as a team needs to be,” added the coach.

“We have worked and talked and done a lot of training around what our team mentality is and what it looks like to pull on a Leeds Rhinos jersey and what we want to stand for.

“In pre-season we need to make sure everyone is clear on that and I am pretty confident that everyone is so I need to see that in friendly games.
