Bradford Bulls boss Kurt Haggerty gives verdict on new Salford

BRADFORD BULLS head coach Kurt Haggerty has confessed he wants to see his side draw his former club Salford in the Challenge Cup.

Haggerty left the former Salford Red Devils club at the end of the 2025 Super League campaign following a whole year of financial uncertainty.

With Haggerty, head coach Paul Rowley also left along with over 20 players, making the new Salford club a completely new entity on and off the field.

Following the news that a Salford side will make the opening weekend of the Championship season in just over a week’s time after a takeover involving Mason Caton-Brown, Malcolm Crompton and Paul Hancock, Haggerty has admitted that it is good to see a Salford club come out the other side.

And, Haggerty wants to draw the new side in the Challenge Cup in a bid to see some familiar old faces.

“I couldn’t even tell you who’s left at the club. I know Ryan Brierley and one of the board of directors,” Haggerty said.

“It’s really good to see the club reiginited. They’ve got a really good coach in Mike Grady who has done a lot of work behind the scenes.

“They’ve also got Ryan Brierley who is Salford through and through so it’s great to see them coming up from the ashes once more.
