Broncos sign young academy star

London Broncos have announced the signing of promising youngster Alex Walker, 18, on a first team contract after a spell in the club’s under-19s set up.

Walker joined the first team squad this month on a one-year deal having completed his studies. He played his rugby league at Brentwood and Newham Dockers before joining the London Broncos youth system.

“It’s great that these young guys have signed up to the club, I see them all as a big part of my first team squad moving forward over the next two seasons,” said head coach Joey Grima.

“Alex Walker will train with the first team but continue playing for the under-19s this season.”

Head of youth Darren Higgins said: “Alex has had an outstanding season in the under-19s and demonstrates the high levels of professionalism and attitude that we are looking for in our players.

“I’m delighted that his attitude, commitment and hard work have been recognised and rewarded with a full-time contract.”
