Huddersfield and Scotland captain Danny Brough is relishing kicking the 2014 Super League season off against last year’s champions Wigan this Friday.
The 31-year-old had a massive part to play in the Giants’ League Leaders’ Shield win in 2013 but is still ruing their failure to finish the job off in the play-offs.
“Round one against Wigan will be like a final and that’s the way we’ll be treating it,” said the former Wakefield and Hull half-back.
”We failed at the back end again last year. I don’t know if a few people thought it was already ‘job done’.
“We have to knuckle down this year to bounce back and there’s no better place to start than Wigan.”
