Campese looking to emulate Dobson heroics at Hull KR

New Hull KR signing Terry Campese has revealed that he is looking to prove he’s up to the standards of Super League with the Robins – just like former half-back partner Michael Dobson did when he headed for Humberside.

Dobson was a revelation at KR, spending six hugely successful seasons with the club before returning to the NRL with Newcastle Knights.

And Campese, who has penned a one-year deal with Chris Chester’s men for 2015, has said he’s hopeful he can repeat the heroics of Dobson – as well as use his experience to develop the next batch of promising youngsters at the club.

“Dobbo was my half-back partner when he was at Canberra before he went to England to join Hull KR,” Campese told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I know he was in the running for Man of Steel when he first went over there so I’d love to show my worth like that too.

“If I can pass on my experience and what I have learned in my career, I will be happy to do that.

“When I was coming through at the Raiders, there were a lot of senior players who helped to steer me in the right direction. Now, it’s time for me to pass on what I know and do the same.”
