Justin Carney has described Marwan Koukash as ‘remarkable’ after the Salford owner helped him adapt to life at Salford.
The Red Devils winger recently made his move to Salford permanent after finding a new home at the AJ Bell Stadium.
He came to the club under a cloud following his unsavoury departure from Castleford, however he has found the transition to Salford has helped him rediscover his former happiness, and Carney claimed his friendship with Koukash is one reason why he has enjoyed his time at the club.
“People speculate and assume, but Marwan is a great, inspiring man,” he said.
“To sit down and listen to his story, he’s come from nothing. It makes you understand how remarkable he really is. People speculate because he shoots from the hip and they don’t like that, but it doesn’t bother me at all.
“Salford is a good place with good people. It’s professional, but also a casual, family-orientated club. The people here are always so happy to see you and happy to help at any cost. I’m made up to be here and it’s a home for me.”
