Castleford chairman Ian Fulton insists that Denny Solomona IS NOT leaving Castleford.
The scoring sensation has been the subject of transfer rumours throughout the season, with Wigan strongly linked with a move for Super League’s top scorer earlier this year.
Solomona and Castleford have remained tight-lipped on the matter, however, Fulton has reassured fans that Solomona will not be leaving Cas in the near future.
“It has been brought to my attention that there is currently a lot of rumour and speculation over the future of Denny Solomona,” he told the club’s official website.
“I would like to take this opportunity to put this rumour and fans concerns to bed. As a club we now have a very strong squad built over the last couple of seasons, with players added to further strengthen the team for next year.
“In the past, as it has been well documented, our financial situation led to us making the decision to sell players to ease this burden, however more recently this is not the case, in fact the opposite is now true.
“Over the course of this year we have actively negotiated longer and better contract extensions with players to ensure the long-term success of the club.”
He continued: “The bottom line is Denny is signed with us for the next two years, he has not been sold. Myself, the board of directors, the coaching staff, and for you the fans and everybody else involved with the Tigers, we would love Denny to stay for longer and our main concern is to try and make sure this happens. Thank you, Ian Fulton.”
Solomona has scored 28 Super League tries this season and is 11 tries short of breaking the record for tries scored in a Super League season.
