Castleford Tigers confirm exit of Zac Cini

ZAC CINI has left Castleford Tigers, head coach Ryan Carr has confirmed.

Cini has scored six tries in 34 appearances since joining the Tigers ahead of the 2025 season.

However, the 26-year-old has been in and out of the Castleford team this campaign, with injury stalling Cini’s start to the season.

Since then, he has struggled to find form, playing at fullback, at centre and on the wing in 2026.

Following Castleford’s dismal 48-6 thrashing by Wakefield Trinity at Super League’s Magic Weekend, Carr confirmed that Sydney-born Cini, who was out of contract at the end of this season, has left the OneBore Stadium.

“He had to go back to Australia for personal reasons,” Carr said.

“He’s been a great guy and a great player for us, but he’s been released by mutual consent.”

It is set to be a major rebuild for the Tigers in 2027, with Mat Feagai and Damien Cook both signed from St George Illawarra Dragons.

Tyrell Sloan and Mason Lino have also been linked with moves.
