Castleford Tigers to hold ‘homecoming party’

Castleford Tigers have confirmed that – regardless of the result this weekend at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final – they are to hold a ‘homecoming party’ to welcome the team home next Monday.

Cas haven’t reached the final of the Challenge Cup since 1992 and, to honour what has been an extraordinary season so far, the Tigers have confirmed on their official website that they will welcome their heroes home in style, win or lose.

“Castleford Tigers have confirmed that a celebratory free entry event will take place the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Bank Holiday Monday to welcome the team home from Wembley,” a statement read.

“The Tigers will face Leeds Rhinos at the most prestigious match in Rugby League, the Tetley’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 23rd August.

“Leeds and Castleford have not lifted the trophy in a combined 33 years, which promises to make this one of the best all Yorkshire battles every encountered.

“Win or lose Castleford Tigers recognise the immense support they have received from Castleford Fans.”
