Catalans Dragons legend Rémi Casty leaves for head coaching role

RÉMI CASTY has left Catalans Dragons to become head coach of FC Lézignan.

Having joined the Dragons reserve team coaching staff in 2023 as assistant coach before taking over as head coach the following season, Casty guided the team to a French Cup victory last year and led them to the play-offs this season.

Casty holds club legend status with Catalans, having made 336 appearances and scored 34 tries across 14 Super League seasons.

As such, Casty remains the French club’s all-time appearance record holder.

A 26-time France international, 41-year-old lifted the Challenge Cup as the Dragons beat Warrington Wolves at Wembley in 2018.

In 2021, Casty ended his playing career by helping Toulouse Olympique to promotion to Super League for the 2022 season.
