WITH just one game remaining in the Championship, when London Broncos host Swinton this Saturday at the Richmond Athletic Ground, the fixtures for the opening round of the play-offs have been determined in accordance with the clubs’ finishing positions in the regular season league table.
The top two clubs, London Broncos and Newcastle Thunder, will have byes into the second round of the play-offs.
The Eliminators will involve teams finishing in positions seven to ten and the losers of these matches will be eliminated from the competition.
The games will be Sheffield Eagles (seventh) v Batley Bulldogs (tenth) and Midlands Hurricanes (eighth) v Whitehaven (ninth).
The Qualifying Semi-Finals will see Oldham (third) v Widnes Vikings (fifth) and Doncaster (fourth) v Barrow Raiders (sixth).
Those four fixtures are currently set for this Sunday at 3pm, subject to change.
The winners of the Qualifying Semi-Finals will face away games at the top two clubs in the second week, while the losers will host the winners of the Eliminators.
The Grand Final is likely to be on Sunday, October 4.
