College international set for Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers’ BigFellas stadium hosts England Colleges’ first international fixture of the academic year on Saturday (July 16).

England face Scotland Colleges, kicking off at 1pm, and entry to the match is free of charge.

England come into the game off the back of the first-ever College Origin Series, won by the North against the South. The squad has been picked from the best performers in that Series.

England Colleges Head Coach James Massara said: “We had a great session down at Loughborough College last week and we’re now really excited to get on the field and build on what we’ve done in training.”

England will face a stern test against a good Scotland Colleges side and their Head Coach, Mark Senter, is eager for his young side to get on the field: “We always look forward to the game against England Colleges,” he said.

“It is played in a good spirit and is an important part of the Scotland Rugby League Under 19s programme.

“This year, we have a particularly young, inexperienced squad who will benefit enormously from this game and will also enjoy the opportunity of playing at such a fantastic stadium.”

The game is the first of a double-header for England, who play Wales on the July 30 at Loughborough College.
