THE 2016 Conference Trophy Final, which will be staged on Saturday (8 October) in Manchester, will involve Premier Division title hopefuls Rochdale Mayfield and Division Two champions Hunslet Club Parkside.
The game, which kicks off at 1.30pm, is being played at the 5,000-capacity Manchester Regional Arena, only a few hours before the First Utility Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.
The Man of the Match will be presented with the Steve Gartland Trophy, in memory of the former Mayfield coach, who passed away in tragic circumstances in late August, on the eve of his side’s semi-final win at Featherstone Lions.
Steve Gartland would have celebrated his 46th birthday on Saturday. Members of his family will make the presentation, in addition to handing out medals and the Conference Challenge Trophy itself.
