Cooper opens the doors to kids

Warrington Wolves forward Mike Cooper will begin his Testimonial season by waiving admission charges for youngsters ages under-12 for his Testimonial game against Salford Red Devils at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday 23 January, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

The teams will compete for the 1895 Sports Challenge Cup in the only pre-season home game to be held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and to take advantage of the offer, young people must be accompanied by a paying adult.

To honour the occasion, there will be a specially designed Testimonial kit which will be manufactured by Cooper’s company 1895 Sports and will be worn by the Warrington Wolves’ team on the evening.

Cooper, 31, made his debut for the Wolves in 2006, spending eight seasons at the Halliwell Jones Stadium before moving into the NRL for three seasons with the St George Illawarra Dragons from 2014.

He returned to Warrington in 2016 and was a member of the Wolves squad that won the Challenge Cup this year.

“I’m really proud and thankful to the club and Rugby League for organising my Testimonial. I’m looking forward to a great year celebrating my career so far,” he tweeted.
