Whitehaven boss James Coyle protested a late decision that potentially cost his side victory against Batley.
Having just kicked a drop goal to lead 23-22, Batley went for a short kick-off which appeared to not go 10 metres, but was seemingly missed by the referee.
Batley subsequently kicked a penalty, which proved to be the matchwinner.
Coyle was inevitably disappointed with the incident.
“There was one decision which, in my opinion, was incorrect,” he told Whitehaven News.
“The ball landed three metres behind the 40-metre line. Our lads are not going to catch that ball because it would be a penalty against us, so we stand and watch it. They collect it and it was play on.
“It didn’t go 10 metres and we were hard done to at that stage.”
