Whitehaven head coach James Coyle slammed the performance of his side after they were thrashed 50-0 by Batley.
The Cumbrians never turned up as they suffered a costly defeat at Mount Pleasant, which saw the Bulldogs leapfrog Haven in the table as the two teams attempt to avoid the drop.
Both teams are just two points clear of safety with two games to play, with Whitehaven travelling to fierce rivals Workington this Sunday.
“It was very disappointing,” said Coyle
“I don’t think there’s any way of trying to dress up the way we performed or make any excuses for what we churned out. It wasn’t good enough and it was embarrassing for the fans and embarrassing for the club.”
