Croft field goal hands Melbourne Anzac Day victory

Brodie Croft kicked a field goal earning Melbourne Storm a 13-12 victory over New Zealand Warriors in the classic Anzac Day clash.

The Storm were stunned early when Adam Blair scored a try against his former club after Chanel Harris-Tavita had kicked a penalty.

Melbourne halved the deficit when Josh Addo-Carr batted Cameron Munster’s kick back into the kicker’s path.

The Storm then took the lead in the second half when Cameron Smith’s kick was taken in by Jahrome Hughes. But Ken Maumalo crossed five minutes later to hand the advantage back to the visitors.

With five minutes to go, the Warriors were penalised at the play-the-ball giving Munster the opportunity to level the game up. Croft was then on hand to win the game with a field goal that struck the left upright and crept over three minutes later.
