Crooks facing a month out as Castleford injury problems worsen

Castleford’s injury problems have worsened after coach Daryl Powell revealed that centre Ben Crooks is set to miss a month of action.

Crooks suffered bruising on his kidneys during the victory against Huddersfield last weekend, and it is severe enough to put him out of action for four weeks.

That means he is the latest big name added to an ever-increasing injury list, with the likes of Luke Dorn, Ben Roberts and Oliver Holmes out injured.

“Crooksy could be out for four weeks,” Powell said.

“He got bruising on his kidneys during the Huddersfield game which caused bleeding in his urine and made life pretty difficult for him. Again we will chase up on this, but at the moment its four weeks on the sidelines.”

Make sure you pick up Monday’s League Express as we speak to Jy Hitchcox about his form during his first season at the club, and his hopes for a new contract – as well as a full update on Powell’s injury list. There will also be a full report of the Tigers’ game at Widnes.
