Danny Brough charged for abuse of match official

Danny Brough has been handed a Grade D charge for abusing a match official.

The Huddersfield halfback was sent off for dissent in the club’s defeat to Salford on Sunday and is now set for a lengthy suspension.

It’s understood that Brough was involved in an incident with a touch judge that resulted in his dismissal.

If found guilty, he is likely to serve a three to five-match ban.

It would add to Chris Thorman’s current difficulties, with the club dealing with several injuries already.

Jordan Rankin has partnered Brough in the halves throughout the year, but Brough’s potential absence could see Lee Gaskell or Jordan Turner move into the halves.

Elsewhere, Mark Percival has received a one-match penalty notice for disputing a decision.
