Davy says Giants can match famous Team of All Talents

Huddersfield Giants owner Ken Davy has urged the club’s fans to get on board for 2016 – saying that they now possess a side capable of matching Huddersfield’s most famous ever side.

The town of Huddersfield witnessed one of the greatest ever Rugby League sides when, in the 1914-15 season, they became known as the Team of All Talents, after winning all four trophies on offer in one season. At that time, they were only the second team in the sport’s history to do that, after Hunslet in 1907-08.

But Davy told the Huddersfield Examiner that they believe they have a side capable of matching that team – which included famous names such as Albert Rosenfeld and Harold Wagstaff – and their brand of play is earning them plaudits aplenty.

“They will be watching one of the best and most consistent sides in the competition, playing a brand of rugby which has earned admirers everywhere,” said Davy.

“Supporters will be able to see players like Super League’s top tryscorer and World XIII winger Jermaine McGillvary, the iconic Eorl Crabtree and arguably the competition’s most skilful players in Danny Brough.

“We know we have the side capable of matching the legendary Team of All Talents and becoming the Giants of All Talents.”
