Denis Betts wasted no time revelling in Widnes’ spot at the top of Super League, instead focusing on his side’s upcoming battles.
The Vikings returned to the top of Super League following their superb 36-18 victory over Huddersfield on Sunday.
However, Betts insists that the upcoming month will give everyone a better feel of where they are at, starting with their match against winless Hull KR on Friday.
“The next month is where the games start coming thick and fast, so it’ll be a test for us,” said Denis Betts.
“That’s what Super League is about; it becomes a real war of attrition.
“It’s nice to be top at this stage, we’ve had a really good start, but we need to make sure we’re ready for it getting tougher.”
