DEWSBURY MOOR MAROONS picked up both trophies at the HEAVY WOOLLEN LEAGUE finals night, before a four-figure crowd, at Batley Bulldogs’ Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.

The Maroons’ first team beat DEWSBURY CELTIC 26-12 in the JIM BROWN CHALLENGE CUP decider, thanks to a try and five goals for Louie Walker and touchdowns to Bradley Adams and Kieren Hepworth, while Walker also earned a penalty try.

Celtic, who were 18-6 behind at the break, registered tries by Paul Foulstone and Alex Whitman, both of which Jordan Hirst improved.

Dewsbury Moor A accounted for SHAW CROSS SHARKS A by the same 26-12 scoreline in the JOHN KANE TROPHY FINAL. 

The Moor, who were 16-6 ahead at the break, prevailed through tries by Andy Burland, Andrew Cooper (two), Amir Saghir and Richard Ginnelly, plus three Max Vernon goals.

Brandon Bates and Finlay Curtis nipped over for the Sharks and Callum Baker landed both goals.
