Diskin expects big things from Garreth Carvell

Bradford Bulls captain Matt Diskin has backed new signing Garreth Carvell for glory in 2014.

The 32-year-old joined the Odsal club from Warrington on a two-year deal in the summer and made his debut against former club Hull last week.

Diskin is expecting big things from the club’s most exciting signing.

“He is a fantastic player, with a great pedigree,” said the former Leeds Rhinos hooker.

“You have just got to look at his career, the caps he has bagged and the trophies he has won.

“He is a big human being and he certainly takes some stopping when he gets a roll on.

“From my point of view, as a hooker, it will be great playing off the back of his immense go-forward.

“Garreth adds a huge amount to the group, particularly from a mentor point of view,” added Diskin, who is being proudly sponsored by members of the RedAmberandBlack Message Board this season.

“For some of the younger boys, him being around is going to be fantastic.

“He will for sure act as a mentor and you can already see a number of the up and coming players latching onto him for guidance and advice.”
