Divorty departs Fax

Halifax RLFC have terminated the contract of second-row Ross Divorty by mutual consent.

Divorty, who has made 101 appearances for Fax in a spell of over four years at the club, has chosen to focus on a full-time teaching career that has forced him to put his Rugby League career on hold.

Head Coach Richard Marshall said: “I spoke with Ross last week about the situation and the demands that playing for Halifax RLFC and having a full-time teaching job commands.

“I think Ross has made a good decision, and probably the right one for his personal wellbeing and his professional career. He’s been a great player for this club and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Football Manager Ian Croad said: “Ross has been a great servant to Halifax RLFC and shown great commitment travelling 3 hours to training whilst working full time as a teacher.

“Personally I would like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.”
