Dom Wear excited after signing new Workington Town deal

WORKINGTON TOWN halfback Dom Wear is up for another challenge after signing a new deal.

Wear forged an exciting new partnership with Jake Carter in helping Workington to a second-placed finish in League One last season, his first in the professional game.

Previously with community club Kells, Wear played for England Community Lions and went on to make 17 appearances for Workington in 2025, missing a handful of games mid-season with a groin injury.

He said: “I was delighted with my first year, I thought it went well. I wasn’t expecting to play as many games at the start of the year but I was really happy with the way we ended as a team and on a personal note.

“The partnership with Jake towards the end of the season started to gain momentum and we started to click and hopefully that’s something we can build on.

“It’s definitely another new challenge (going in to the new Championship), but I’m looking forward to it. That’s why you sign up at this level, to test yourself and try to improve and get better, so hopefully we can have another successful year.”
