Dudson confident Widnes will be much improved in 2016

Widnes forward Gil Dudson has insisted that he’s expecting the Vikings to have a much better season in 2015 than his debut year with the club.

The Vikings narrowly missed out on a top eight finish in 2015, entering The Qualifiers but ultimately retaining their Super League status with relative ease when it mattered.

And Dudson, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, says that he’s expecting a top eight finish is the very least Widnes will acheive in 2016.

“We were disappointed to end up one point out of the top eight after a bad run of results three-quarters of the way through last season,” he said.

“There were games there for us to take which we didn’t.

“We’re aiming for a minimum of top eight this year.

“We’ve improved the squad and got a good pre-season under our belt.

“There is no reason we can’t at least better what we did last year.”
