Eagles swoop for Oldham duo

Sheffield Eagles have completed their first signings of the close season after landing Oldham duo George Tyson and Adam Neal.

Both have been handed long-term deals, with Tyson, who can play in the centre or the second-row signing a three-year deal whilst Neal has committed to two years in South Yorkshire.

Tyson was a shining light in Oldham’s promotion to the Kingstone Press Championship this season, with Roughyeds head coach Scott Naylor telling League Express in May that Tyson has the ability to play in Super League.

Meanwhile, Neal was also a key member in Oldham’s pack and will now go full-time with the Eagles as the club embarks on a new journey in their quest to reach Super League.

“I am thrilled to bring two young, hungry and talented individuals into the Sheffield Eagles fold,” Mark Aston told www.sheffieldeagles.com

“I have been an admirer of both for some time, and they are two players with bags of ability who will really thrive in the full-time environment.

“They were standout performers in what was a very talented and successful Oldham outfit last season, and they know what it takes to ensure success. They are great lads who have the right mental attitude, and I know that they are really excited about the challenge ahead.”
