Ex-Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons forward Mickael Goudemand lands trial with NRL club

FORMER Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons forward Mickael Goudemand has landed a trial with the reserves side of NRL club Newcastle Knights.

Goudemand, who left Leeds at the end of the 2024 season, had already been plying his trade in Australia with Junee Diesels in the Group 9 Rugby League competition.

The trial with Newcastle’s reserves side lasts until March, with Goudemand being given a chance to earn a contract with the club.

Even if a move to the Knights doesn’t happen, the 29-year-old will have an offer from local Australian club Macquarie Scorpions.

Goudemand won the Challenge Cup with Catalans in 2019 and also made two Super League Grand Finals, where the French side were beaten by St Helens (2021) and Wigan Warriors (2023).
