FORMER London Broncos and Bradford Bulls player Harvey Burnett has passed away from cancer, aged 29.
Burnett started as a junior for the Elmbridge Eagles, and was in the London Broncos Academy system, eventually making his debut in 2015 for the club.
The second-rower/centre went on to make 22 appearances for the Broncos with spells at London Skolars and Oxford following before Burnett joined Bradford Bulls in 2018.
He joined Dewsbury Rams ahead of the 2019 Championship season and it was there where Burnett was diagnosed with Small Round Cell Desmoplastic sarcoma, a type of cancer.
Burnett campaigned tirelessly to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and his own charity ‘Making my Grass Greener’, but London have since announced the 29-year-old’s sad passing.
The Broncos posted on X: “London Broncos would like to send deepest condolences to the family and friends of Harvey Burnett who recently lost his battle with cancer.
“Harvey was a former Bronco and Scotland international and dear friend to many at the club.”
