FORMER Super League and NRL winger Kyle Feldt is to try his hand at Australian rules football.
Feldt returned to Australia with his family last month after being released by St Helens with half a year still left on his contract with the Merseyside club.
He scored 29 tries in 33 appearances for Saints but missed a number of games during this season due to injury.
It wasn’t clear whether the 34-year-old intended to search for a new NRL club upon his return Down Under – he’s North Queensland Cowboys’ record try-scorer with 151 in 217 games across twelve seasons – but he has left rugby league altogether.
Feldt will play Aussie rules for the remainder of 2026 having committed to Thuringowa Bulldogs, who play in the amateur, regional AFL Townsville competition in Queensland.
They confirmed the move on social media, saying: “The Executive Committee is ecstatic to announce that the Thuringowa Bulldogs have secured Kyle for the remainder of the 2026 season upon his return from England.”
Feldt could make his debut in the sport next Saturday.
