Wigan Warriors star Liam Farrell has apologised to Stefan Ratchford for sliding in with his knees during Wigan’s defeat to Warrington.
Farrell went in late on Ratchford while he was in the process of scoring, which resulted in the England international being handed a one-match ban.
Writing for Wigan Today, Farrell revealed that he had spoken to the Warrington star following the incident.
“I shouldn’t have slid in like I did – frustration got the better of me, seeing him go under the sticks for a try,” he said.
“As I say, it was the wrong thing to do, I apologised to Stef afterwards and I’ll cop the ban on the chin.”
Farrell will sit out Wigan’s game with Wakefield on Sunday.
