Fax battle past Oldham

By Michael Hale

Halifax survived a second half comeback from Oldham Roughyeds to end a three game losing run and get their Championship campaign back on track.

‘Fax looked to have secured the win at half time as a Gareth Moore brace, alongside tries from James Saltonstall, Jake Eccleston and full-back Miles Greenwood gave the visitors a 30 point lead at the break.

The Roughyeds looked a different team in the second half as Will Hope and Adam Clay’s doubles were sandwiched by Jamal Chisolm’s try to give the hosts a chance.

Saltonstall grabbed his second and Mitch Cahalane added second half tries to confirm the win for Richard Marshall’s side.
