Fax set to offer contract to young star

Halifax are set to offer a contract to former London Broncos three-quarter James Woodburn-Hall.

The 21-year-old, who made 13 Super League appearances for the Broncos, has recently impressed in two outings for Fax’s new reserve side.

Coach Richard Marshall explained: “We’re not far off offering him a contract.

“He’s at Leeds Beckett University for the next two years, doing a Sports Science degree and Masters. He needs to be playing rugby as part of his funding package, and wanted to come here and play some reserve-team rugby.

“He’s played Super League, is a decent prospect and is still a young man. We believe that he could develop into a first-team player at Halifax.”

Marshall added that he might not be the only member of the reserve side to be offered a contract in the coming weeks, with other players catching his eye.
