Former Keighley Cougars captain James Feather could sensationally return to the club in 2015, after Cougars chairman Gary Fawcett told the media that the hooker is having second thoughts about joining local rivals Hunslet.
After initially signing a deal to join the Hawks for 2015 following the Cougars’ relegation to League One, Fawcett says that Feather’s heart is with Keighley, and it is now up to the player and the club to secure a release – opening the door for a return to Keighley, just weeks after leaving the club.
“He has now realised that his heart is with Cougars and it is up to James to sort out his situation with Hunslet,” Fawcett said.
Fawcett also revealed that another Hunslet player will definitely be plying their trade with the Cougars next season, as Gavin Duffy has agreed a deal to play for Paul March’s men next season.
“Gavin did really well at Championship One level for Hunslet, featuring more than once in the league’s Team of the Week.”
