Foran granted release by Eels

Parramatta Eels have released Keiran Foran from the remainder of his contract.

The New Zealand international only joined the club at the beginning of the season in what was one of the biggest signings of the off-season signing a four-year deal worth $5 million.

However, personal issues and a shoulder injury meant the 26-year-old only managed nine games for the club before asking to be released from his contract earlier this month so he could sort out some personal issues.

“Kieran’s got to do what’s best for him, for his health. I’m supportive of that. I’ve got 38 other players here that I need to focus on,” said Parramatta head coach Brad Arthur, who had persuaded Foran to join the club from Manly last season.
