  1. Maybe that was his plan all along after it fell through with Swinton
  2. For anyone there today, 1) Were we any improved from the previous few weeks? 2) OCR said we had plenty of first half possession but couldn't do much with it - true reflection? 3) I have suspected now for weeks there is little team spirit and a lack of fitness as we get into the second half, was this evident today? 4) What was toe crowd like? Cheers Steve
  3. Very true. As I said unfortunately I can’t go today. In times past I would be really pigged off if I couldn’t go but strangely I am not too bothered. Quite sad really.
  4. Sadly I won’t be there today for a couple of reasons, none to do with the performance of the team. But that is 5 less on the attendance.
  5. The way the squad had been managed appeared to be a total mess
  6. On young players, what happened to Jamie Pye, he also has disappeared from the 2022 squad list?
  7. That’s the point. Pre season the club said it was a development year. So what development is the playing Wakefields reserves and wigans academy?
  8. I joked in the last match, “he’s the best 39 we have” but the reality was the majority of the players are numbered in the late 20’s to late 30’s.
  9. Just seen on twitter he has resigned for Waterhead. I know it was mentioned a few weeks ago but sad to see another Oldham lad go.
  10. Wonder if this is true or rumour? "Expecting Tuesday to be the day of the announcement. Brassbank purchase is running a little behind. #Oafc will have control of it. rugby to come back for the 2023 season with a new pitch being paid for"
  11. But the reality is nothing like that. I went to the Rochdale game with 5 grandkids. 1 a student and 4 under 16. So income from 6 of us was £19. Bear in mind a large portion of the crowd was under 16’s due to the curtain raiders then the income won’t be that high. At the Doncaster game there was three of us, same £19 so average just over £6. If there was 300 there the club will be lucky to have generated £3000. Should imagine they will have list money on the day Truly how is it all viable?
  12. It looked pretty empty. Maybe 300
  13. Great talk by Michael, as always. Good putting a face to a few names on here. Thanks for attending folks

  16. Totally agree. I made same point to my grandson. I don’t like to bag officials as they have a hard job. But these guys made errors today and need to be better.
  17. Notice the Saddleworth kit today was sponsored by Manchester Cabins, the company owned by Frank Rothwell.
  18. In the end Hornets took advantage of Oldham’s naivety in not increasing the lead and ripped Oldham apart there after
  19. Ranji knew what he was doing. He made it worse pretending he was injured. We don’t need this in the game. James Bentley got a yellow for Leeds and a two match ban for it. The Oldham player was stupid and rose to the bait. They should have both got yellow
  20. So with 10 to go Hornets holding a slender 32-24 lead, we make a great break. Two on one. Pass out wide to the second oldham player was absolutely appalling, way forward and chance home. Chase stood over the Oldham player and laughed at him and clapped him in a totally unnecessary and ungentlemanly manner. Fight ensues, Luke Nelmes get 10 minutes and chase gets away with it. Chase should have gone with yellow card minimum and hopefully 2 games. James Bentley hit this punishment earlier this season for exactly this reason. That was then game over. As a footnote I thought the referee was really poor and made a lot of incorrect decisions.
