  1. Won't Leigh just end up signing the likes of Matty Russell, James Cunningham et al when their contracts run out with this year's relegated club?
  2. I'd have Wardle back at Huddersfield, I've said since I first saw him at 16 in the academy that he is a classy player. Whether he wants to come back and fight for a place is anyone's guess though.
  3. Giants by 12 , although Leeds probably in better form. Hope it doesn't rain too much!!
  4. Wonder if some posters still think Salford and Huddersfield bring nothing to the sport and are an embarrassment and should be dumped for Newcastle and York? Well done Salford!
  5. IF Fartown could have been rebuilt, like Naughton Park was then it would have been brilliant, but it was too far gone, it was like Belle Vue/Odsal is now, unfortunately, Huddersfield didn't have any central funding available back then to keep it just about going. Anyway, we have a decent stadium, it's just not home, it's too big, and it's expensive.
  6. Who picks the 4 shortlisted players on their app? Tonight, there was Joe Lovodua, Luke Gale, Lewis Murphy and David Fifita. Lovodua went off injured early on, Gale spent more time chasing the referee than helping his team and Fifita did little of note. Are they just 4 random names or what? Presumably Murphy just sneaked it?
  7. Another Yorkshire league success for Huddersfield then
  8. I'm not the one with the OMG's and LOL's. Do you know why the game was cancelled? Grow up.
  9. Anyway, on the field stuff, we can't finish lower than 4th now, not bad given that most people tipped us to finish between 9th-12th, a lot of people, our own fans included had us down as relegation fodder.. Let's hope we can finally sort our play off form out!
  10. There was a deluded Hull fan claiming that Huddersfield only had 200 home fans last time they came Also, the usual guff about how we are outnumbered every week.... it can be quite fun toying with these thicko's though sometimes
  11. I remember it well, people flocked to Odsal to get a bit of warmth as it's nearer the earths core than Rooley Avenue! I seem to remember we were all fairly fresh too
  12. This could be quite entertaining if both sides bring their really naff efforts along. It could be a laugh a minute 40 or 50 point drubbing for either Jekyll or it could be a close run tense victory for Mr Hyde.
  13. I agree with that M, but if everyday you were told you were worthless and ugly and don't deserve to play with the pretty ones, you'd get a bit narky over time wouldn't you, naturally? Hope you're both well btw?
  14. Probably a few, like Huddersfield and like most teams, both teams still had 17 full time professionals out there. Your side was a pretty strong looking 17. And yes you were poor, only the odd error and toe in touch prevented it being 50+
  15. Every post about Huddersfield on social media, on forums like these, there are always comments about our crowds, lack of, our empty seats, our fans etc, as @ammrightly states, we get absolutely slaughtered by most other RL fans about our crowds despite having tried for years to do all we can as a club to attract more , we have a good team but it doesn't matter to most RL fans as all they are interested in is how many empty seats we have, how we don't deserve to be where we are, it's embarrassing, it's not fair that teams who have thousands of fans aren't 3rd etc etc it's tiresome. So tiresome that Huddersfield fans have now adopted the same attitude that we have no fans, and yet we get pulled up for our self deprecation. it doesn't matter what Huddersfield do, they'll get hammered for it so why shouldn't our fans join in?
  16. This is the same Newcastle Thunder, along with Bradford Bulls, York and Lalaland Leopards who should be fast tracked into super league at the expense of Salford, Huddersfield and Wakefield yeah? Or a different one?
  17. Cas were probably depleted though And it's not fair cos we haven't got any fans!
  18. Go on, tell us and our owner how we get more people in, I'm sure we've never really thought about it before!
  19. Easy win, Castleford offered very little resistance by the end, Giants just being their boring selves and winning again. Good job there was plenty of empty seats for RL fans to count too, always know Huddersfield are doing well when crowds get brought up. What would people do without obsessing over Huddersfield's empty seats? We're on our way!
  20. Because I'm just surmising, I don't know the actual reason but this is the likely suggestion.
  21. The whole idea of rugby league becoming successful in big cities is purely based on the fact that they're located in a big city and therefore may but probably won't be appealing to mythical rich backers and thousands of people who haven't been interested up to now. As has been said, every place has potential, Sheffield is no different to Newcastle, York, Bradford, etc
