  1. No, Leeds, Saints and York are just far too good and stockpile all the best players.
  2. If it was RL, there would be posts bemoaning the fact that women, yes, women were allowed to play the game, but not just that, but women from other countries and cities that aren't former pit and mill towns! #gamesgone #IndustrialNorthernEnglandTownsOnly
  3. I hope Gubrats made sure the Dutch and Swedes could park their coaches
  4. Surely the word "attendance" should be a clue as to the reference? There's a difference between attendance and tickets issued
  5. "Full strength" Huddersfield to fall to a shock defeat to a fired up, depleted Dragons I fear.
  6. Will it be another brave defeat for the depleted fallen heroes? Or will the brave Leeds kids stun the Warriors?
  7. It would be a shame for them and for the competition, they have a spanking new ground to look forward to filling and they've been pretty competitive and challenging for honours for a few years now.
  8. What's the obsession some people have with Nines? Why is a Nines competition seen as the be all and end all of RL all of a sudden? Is there any history of any such Nines competition actually being a success?
  9. 50-0 to York, no real surprise, Giants gave it a good go but there's no way a group of kids can even compete with the likes of York. Kyle Amor was really condescending in commentary though, almost as if he was trying to take away the efforts of the Giants by telling us they've conceded an average of 50 points per game this year and almost sounded chuffed when Stanley nailed the touchline conversion to make it 50 in the last seconds. He seemed to be annoyed that Huddersfield didn't compete and make it anything other than a procession. Kyle... it's a 3 way competition pal, these girls have earned the right to play against top class international players, maybe give them some credit, as Sharon on commentary was trying to do, for their efforts and commitment rather than pulling them down for making basic errors and not making big yardage out of defence. Well played York the result was never in doubt but they can only beat what's in front of them.
  10. As we discussed at the Giants academy match yesterday, no one knows if a player is injured or not, not even the player themselves, that's why the medical people do all they can to stabilise potential injuries. What could be a minor injury could ne turned into a catastrophe if they are moved. It's (or it should be) common knowledge not to move injured people, if you came across a cyclist or someone in a car, you wouldn't move them, so why would you move a potentially injured rugby player? Yes, the staying down to try and earn a penalty etc is an awful tactic, but a players health and wellbeing is more important. Rugby players and officials aren't doctors or specialist medical professionals so don't expect them to try and decide whether a player is injured or not.
  11. A massive ask for the Giants, who, I think have 6 or 7 16/17 year olds in the team today, it should be a no contest against a team of internationals. But if it helps them develop into better players and a better team for the future then so be it.
  12. But when they do, the 1990's will be far superior to anything we have in the UK.
  13. Maybe Wells was just really happy that Huddersfield lost again and stopped making him look silly?
  14. If we really do have to copy everything they do in Australia, how about an Angles v Celts game? Anyone with Scots, Welsh, Irish heritage can qualify for the Celtic nations and play against their superior and more intelligent Anglo-Saxon cousins?
  15. M62 was an absolute nightmare, miles of lane closures meant we didn't get time until well after midnight, at least it was Friday! The bars at the away end weren't open so we had to use the main stand, I had Madri before the game but it had all run out before half time.
  16. Which one? there's 2, both equally good and with lots of cracking beers on. And for railway buffs, one at each side of the station entrance, both were formerly separate booking offices for the railway companies that shared the station, if you look above the entrances you'll see the old railways companies lettering
  17. I thought Fages, along with Hewitt were our best players last night, they both got stuck in a bit in defence and never stopped trying. Yeah the catering was pretty poor, no food at all by half time, only bottles of carling or cider left, the Red V wasn't very cracky either.
  18. As much as we were extremely poor, Saints were also very good and pretty ruthless, with 12, and even 11 men, they just seemed to have an extra level. The red card seemed to spur them on and seemed to deflate us a bit, but we were our own worst enemies, it could and should have been a closer game but Saints were just too good for us and you're not going to beat Saints if you're not at your best, we were nowhere near our best last night. Pryce, for me, is still very much learning the game, he seems to either be trying too hard or is just not as good as he's been made out to be, at this stage of his development, but he's certainly not having any positive impact into the side at the moment. If we are going to stay in the scrap for top 4 then we are going to have to do it tough, Hill, McGillvary, Leutele, Cogger, Ikahihifo, O'Brien, English, and possibly Lolohea are big misses for us.
